Inspiring women in science
In the Marthe Vogt Podcast of the Forschungsverbund Berlin, junior researchers share stories about their journey into science
For the majority of women in science, doctoral and postdoctoral phases continue to be the most vulnerable time in their careers. In the new Marthe Vogt Podcast by the Forschungsverbund Berlin (FVB), Natalia Stolyarchuk, a PhD graduate in physics, tackles this issue, giving women in junior research positions the opportunity to share their experiences and, in so doing, creating new role models to encourage young people to choose careers in science.
In a series of interviews, eight women, doctoral students, postdocs, and junior researchers of the FVB, share stories about their journey into science, their motivations, their most demanding challenges, the achievements they are most proud of, and their life beyond scientific research. This year’s winner of the Marthe Vogt Award, presented annually by the FVB to an outstanding early-career woman scientist, also takes part in the podcast as a special guest.
This podcast will be interesting for anyone, regardless of gender, who is considering scientific research as a career path. Those who have already started working in academia and are doing PhD or postdoctoral work will also find encouragement in these stories and even recognize their own experiences.
The podcast is available on the FVB website as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
