We need more space!
Several photonics companies are currently building a new head office and remain true to the location Adlershof
AEMtec GmbH is not the only photonics company in Adlershof that has to deal with a building project in addition to its core business. The next few weeks will see, for example, Bruker Nano GmbH move into its new head office, a renovated stock building on Justus-von-Liebig-Straße. Just opposite this, a new company building is taking shape for LTB Holding.
Also on Justus-von-Liebig- Straße, construction work has begun on an extension to LLA Instruments GmbH. “We need a new production building for hyperspectral cameras,” explained Hartmut Lucht, founder and Managing Director of LLA Instruments GmbH. This company for measuring technology specialises in the development of methods that can sort domestic waste according to its material composition.
Covering 900 square metres, the new building will be producing hyperspectral cameras from the spring of 2014 and is connected to the present head office next door with a glass corridor. Provisions have been made for the event that the company and its 28 staff will need even more space: the new building can take additional storeys and the premises offer space for another hall.
Whereas LLA Instruments GmbH is now lord of its own manor, AEMtec GmbH has first turned from tenant to owner of its new building covering 4,000 square metres of floor space. “We also examined the possibilities of a leased solution,” revealed Managing Director Jan Trommershausen. “However, we don’t need a standard real estate solution, but a building that meets our needs exactly.” Accordingly, the company management attaches great importance to a common recreation room for production personnel and administration staff. The ground floor will house the clean rooms, above these the administration. The company is a member of the exceet Group and needs clean rooms because it specialises in the development and high precision assembly of optical modules and elements, e.g. for medical engineering.
AEMtec also considered other locations in Berlin and its environs to be possibilities – but the final decision was made in favour of Adlershof. Trommershausen named the modern infrastructure, the diverse synergies and the good site management by WISTA-MANAGEMENT GMBH as the key motivators.
