Future-oriented expansion of the LUM management
Susanne Lerche-Merchant will strengthen the management of the company as Managing Director/CEO as of March 2023
LUM GmbH was founded in 1994 by the Managing Director Prof. Dr. Dr. Dietmar Lerche as innovative development, production and service corporation. The headquarters are located in Berlin, Germany. Subsidiaries work in the USA, China, Japan and France. Since 1998, customers in research and industry have been using the innovative analytical devices made by LUM for comprehensive particle and dispersion characterization, for determining adhesive and bonding strengths and for determining product and process parameters. In the laboratory, at-line and for some time also in-line.
Since March 15, 2023, the management of LUM GmbH has been expanded to include CEO Susanne Lerche-Merchant. The graduate business economist (VWA) has been working at LUM GmbH since 2002 and has been an authorized officer and COO since 2016. Both managing directors are authorized to represent the company alone.
The employees of LUM GmbH as well as the closest cooperation partners, customers and suppliers were informed informally about the future structure by Prof. Lerche at the LUM-Goes-Future event and welcomed the decision positively. Susanne Lerche-Merchant: “With now two managing directors, we are happy to be able to meet the growing demands on the family company LUM GmbH even better and to show our employees, partners and customers a long-term perspective. At the same time, we would like to thank everyone for the trust and encouragement. We will use all our strength together to successfully develop the company further.”
