Destination Adlershof
Direct motorway connection, bus and S-Bahn stops right on the doorstep of the city of science and economy, and a brand new tram line which, together with the new station underpass, now links Adlershof’s centre to the public transport system. “To be on track for new perspectives“ is the motto, but not only for railbound passengers.
Adlershof is considered a boomtown where businesses are being thoughtup and founded. Technology centres develop, gain in stability and go public, they are resold in “trade sales” or keep growing under their own power. We count 15 start-ups annually, almost all of them associated with the scientific world. Altogether, we now have a total of over 860 businesses in Adlershof. The current employment increase rate is five percent per annum.
Growth needs space at all levels, ranging from highly flexible very small areas, laboratories, technical centres and halls to high-quality office spaces and developed properties. In Adlershof, we create room for this growth. The amount of spaces we have available allows for a doubling of the 14,000 people who are employed here today. Moreover, our property investors are highly active in creating facilities for this growth. We would like to present some of them on the following pages.
In times of rising standards and a growing demand for urbanity, Adlershof is in a position of catching up. The planned residential area for up to 2,000 new inhabitants is definitely a conducive factor. Apart from the improved transport connection mentioned above, the new forum is a magnet for charismatic events and, as such, an important trend-setter for the location. What is more, the Berlin Brandenburg Airport “Willy Brandt” adds a whole new dimension to Adlershof.
How sustained is the location? Adlershof’s sustainability rests on many pillars. Entrepreneurship, research, innovation, economic power, real estate industry, urbanity, energy efficiency and talent development are the elements we are concentrating on, weighing them all equally. Not that we are “done” in any way. However, the direction and the evident energy with which it is being pursued guarantee planning reliability – something which is hard to find these days.
