Robodogs - May the best technology win
Germany is decidedly one of the world’s best when it comes to robotic soccer. This success goes back to the students of informatics at Humboldt-University, Berlin (Department of Artificial Intelligence). In many hours of patient and detailed work in the fields of robotics and AI, they succeeded in teaching machines to play soccer. And, they were so successful that not just one but several Adlershof teams have earned international fame in different categories. In 1997, Team “Agent Humboldt” celebrated winning the world championships in the simulations league. In 1998 and 2004, the team again made it all the way only to lose in the final match. Then, in 2004 and 2005, the “Aibo Team Humboldt” again brought the coveted cup home with them in the “four-legged” category.
