Dr. Chayanika Das, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) with Breaking the Wall of MAGNESIUM CORROSION and Svea Stephan, KNAUER Wissenschaftliche Geräte GmbH, with Breaking the Wall of EXPLOITING FINITE RESSOURCES, are the winners of the Falling Walls Lab Adlershof 2020.

Great minds, 3 minutes, 1 day – Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. The Lab is a platform for excellent academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from all disciplines who get the opportunity to present their research work, business model, innovative project or idea with peers and a distinguished jury from academia and business. Each participant has 3-minute time on stage.
The Falling Walls Lab Adlershof is hosted by Joint Initiative of Non-University Research Institutes Adlershof (IGAFA) and Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) and took place on October 2, 2020 online.

Falling Walls Labs take place globally throughout the year. This year, the winner of each international Falling Walls Lab qualifies for the Emerging Talents (Lab) category of Falling Walls Remote 2020 – The Breakthroughs of the Year, which will be held from 4-9 November 2020. Falling Walls Remote 2020 will be a global showcase that gathers, discusses, and celebrates a much broader set of breakthroughs in science and society.

The winner of the local Lab gets to attend Falling Walls Remote 2020, take part in an extended programme, increase their project’s global reach and visibility with a pitch video via the Falling Walls social media campaign, receive the opportunity to win a virtual residency with Springer Nature, and join the Falling Walls digital community platform Falling Walls Connect. The winners of the Emerging Talents category will pitch their winning projects during a digital live event and compete to become the Breakthrough Winner in the Emerging Talents category.
