WISTA-Chef Hardy R. Schmitz neuer IASP Advisory Council President
Internationaler Verband der Technologieparks fördert weltweit Innovationsgebiete
Hardy R. Schmitz took on the role of IASP Advisory Council President from Jane Davies at the 30th IASP World Conference celebrated in Recife, Brazil, in October 2013.
IASP would like to thank Jane Davies for her contributions during her tenure as the first President of the IASP Advisory Council. In the words of IASP Director General Luis Sanz: "The IASP Advisory Council is providing to be a highly operational think tank of our association and Jane Davies played a great role in setting the guidelines for its functioning."
In response, Jane Davies shared the following message of support and encouragement: "It's been a privilege to lead the Advisory Council for the last four years; our discussions are always stimulating and enlightening and have provided some of the most enjoyable moments of my professional life. Now I'm delighted to hand over to Hardy, whose extensive experience will bring a new perspective to the Council's deliberations."
Hardy R. Schmitz has been CEO of WISTA Management Gmbh since 2002, which runs the STP Berlin Adlershof. During this time he has initiated key projects in Berlin, including the planning of the area of former Tempelhof Airport and the foundation of Tegel Projekt GmbH designated to become a Centre for Urban Technologies after its closure.
The new Advisory Council President affirms that he is looking forward to his new role: "leading this think tank of members and pioneering strategists is a strong motivation", and continues: "IASP to me and my team has been a source of inspiration and learning. Science Parks go through rapid changes: From infrastructure to talent spaces, from location bound to function driven, from state investment lead to risk capital driven."
Commenting on the new President who brings to the consultative body of IASP a broad professional experience and a vast wealth of knowledge, "Hardy Rudolf Schmitz comes with many new ideas and projects that will inject new impulse to the association", stated IASP Director General Luis Sanz.
IASP would like to thank former President of the Advisory Council, Jane Davies, for her active role and insights during her presidency and welcomes the new president, Hardy R. Schmitz.
