Added value – planning and building with a singular method
The four-phase method developed by building strategist Vollack
The number zero [German: Null] isn’t just significant in the world of mathematics: for clients of the building strategist Vollack, PHASE NULL® means the first steps in the planning and construction of a valuable investment. It is a major pillar in the four-phase method developed by Vollack, which has already impressed a great number of companies from a range of industries due to the fact that they can enjoy added value while keeping a reliable overview of quality, costs and deadlines at all times.
Technology-based companies in particular appreciate the planning and execution expertise of the specialist in methodical building design. In fact, the high-tech hub of Berlin Adlershof is shortly due to be home to four new buildings. The foundations were laid for the five-storey, 4,700 squaremeters Cross Media Centre which will offer office, production and retail space, in July. The company headquarters of the creative and media centre has been designed sustainably in line with the KfW’s Energy-Efficient Building 55 Standard. The use of geothermal energy will also make it independent from energy suppliers.
Loptek, a leading manufacturer of fibre optics and fibreoptic system components, has also opted to commission the building strategist, as has Holoeye, a company in the optics industry. The new building for DanTech Energy, a company providing mobile energy storage solutions, is also ready to set new standards. With completion set for early 2017, the Berlin headquarters will be the largest production facility and office building to meet the passive house standard. For the client, this new working environment reflects its motto of “Thinking outside the box”.
“Our clients’ success is what motivates us” – this is how Bernd Haase, partner at Vollack, describes the company’s mission statement. With a team of 300, of whom 150 are architects and engineers, Vollack’s experts are active throughout Germany in the development, methodical planning, construction and regeneration of sustainable, energy-efficient buildings for the worlds of business, industry and healthcare. The working environment of the future plays a major role here. “After all, the way in which people work is changing and, with it, the requirements of the spaces where they work,” says Haase.
Bernd Haase describes this strength as “Giving buildings a sense of perspective”. “Communication and changes in the company have to be reflected in the architecture, technology and processes,” Haase continues. As part of the partnership with Vollack, the customer receives the answers to the questions that most interest any owner: How can my building contribute to our business success? How are my business model and brand reflected in the building? Can working processes be improved? How will the space change our business culture? In short: How does it create added value?
