Environmentally clever: Homes in Adlershof
The Newton PlusEnergy project
With their Newton PlusEnergy project, Laborgh Investment GmbH developed a successful construction project combining modern architecture with groundbreaking technology. The commencement of construction is scheduled for early 2016.
For this purpose, Laborgh purchased a 11,000 square metres property in Adlershof in 2015. Between Newtonstraße and Alexander-von-Humboldt-Weg, the company is planning the construction of five residential energy-plus buildings containing 128 rental apartments with a total floor area of 8,250 square metres as well as 28 parking spaces. Thanks to a high degree of thermal insulation and the production of energy and heat through photovoltaic systems installed on the roofs, more energy will be generated than consumed. The advantage for tenants is evident: lower utility costs due to substantial energy savings potential. A specific feature of the Newton Plus Energy concept is its combination of rental housing construction with sustainable energy-plus standards – a pairing which, in this form, marks a novelty in Berlin.
Laborgh Investment specialises in the development of affordable rental housing, purchasing properties and developing new buildings with special regard to location and current housing market conditions. From acquisition, concept development and construction management to sale and turn-key delivery, all services are provided from one source. As sustainable construction is gaining in importance, Laborgh’s projects focus increasingly on this trend, Newton being the company’s pilot scheme.
Considering Adlershof to be a location with considerable future prospects, Laborgh sees a great potential for investment here. “As a development site and knowledge base, Adlershof is known for its innovative high-tech projects,” says the company’s Managing Director Florian Lanz. “As experienced and future-oriented project developers, realising the Newton PlusEnergy project in Adlershof we consider ourselves to be a perfect match.” The apartments are scheduled to be ready for occupancy in early 2018.
