Lively Participation at the International Evening

Refugees and potential employers met in Adlershof

The first international Evening for the integration of refugees into jobs and education took place in the Science and Technology Park Berlin Adlershof on December 16th. Around 50 participants attended the event, which was arranged by WISTA-MANAGEMENT GMBH. The operating company of the Technology Park with Project Manager Kezban Saritas and the fellow initiators were very pleased by the lively participation of the different stakeholders. 15 inhabitants from nearby refugee houses were excited and curious about the invitation to the event and enjoyed the attention of potential employers. The applicants were surveyed before about their level of job experience and education.

Among them there are IT-specialists, accountants, electrical engineers and hotel managers. Some of the candidates still have to improve their German language skills and rather managed their communication in English. A few impressed with very good knowledge of German, which they acquired in a pretty short time.

Following the success of the first International Evening the next one follows on January 20th. Several speakers are invited, for example representatives of the Federal Employment Agency, the initiative Arrivo, the Helmholtz Society and one from an enterprise, which enables an easier matching of applicants and employers by semantic matching technology and an App. After the short presentations there will be time for networking for refugees, employers and other interested participants.
